Center's Curriculum

Children’s joy and happiness is a big part of their learning. At God Chosen Development Center, we encourage them to have fun as a part of their education, with child-led activities which are adapted to their abilities and interests.

Programs

Infant and Toddlers

(4 Weeks to 24 Months)

Our Infant and Toddler program is designed to provide each child with a safe and nurturin environment that will stimulate learning. Teachers actively chart the development of each child and provide parents with daily communication regarding their child’s personal care routine.

Infant and Toddlers

(4 Weeks to 24 Months)

To prepare the children for the preschool program, children are introduced to the concept of center play. Furthermore, the curriculum provides a strong vocabulary enriched base so that literacy skills may be introduced to children. In the two’s class, teachers actively work towards potty – training each child.

Preschool/Pre-K

(3-5 Years Old)

Our Preschool and Pre-K curriculum introduces several learning concepts such as literacy, math, and critical thinking skills.

Vocabulary development is very important at this stage, as children will begin to learn the art of writing. The classrooms are organized into centers such as reading, science, math, and writing. Furthermore, children are exposed to a print-rich environment, which allows students to associate written language with oral language. Parents are fully aware of their child’s academic progress through quarterly assessment tools and parent teacher conferences.

School Age

(5 to 12 Years Old)

The before- and after-school day childcare program provides care for full-day Kindergarten through 5th grade students.

As well as transportation to local elementary schools. Our teachers provide a variety of enrichment activities including games, physical fitness, dance, arts and craft, science, computer lessons and more. Our summer camp allows children from first through fifth grade to explore a variety of interests. The children take field trips that stimulate learning and enhance their camp experience.

Abeka Curriculum

At God Chosen Development Center we follow the Abeka Curriculum: a high quality

curriculum which educates children from a Christian perspective. Abeka aims to give

students a strong educational foundation to carry them through their educational journey and into a lifetime of learning.

Abeka has three main aims, which align with our centers’...

Intellectual Growth

As with any curriculum, our focus is on helping students to develop intellectually. This will

look different for each child, but we focus on traditional milestones, with a strong focus on

phonics and reading.

Moral Growth

We teach children to understand the difference between right and wrong. Teaching social

skills such as sharing and turn-taking helps to instill moral values in our children; we use

biblical stories to support this process.

Spiritual Growth

By infusing Christian teachings into the curriculum, students grow spiritually, applying biblical truths to their own lives and understanding the role of prayer and Scripture.
